This week’s AAW is being posted on a Thursday and not a Wednesday. Just pretend its Wednesday. This week a question came in from a blog reader where she asked about posing ideas & getting clients to relax. I had a lot of fun making this video and I hope that you can learn something great from it!
Also, as mentioned in the video regarding Zach & Jody’s Workshops. Click Here for more info!

This week on Ask away Wednesday is a question that I asked a lot when I was first starting out and it is still asked to this day from photographers.

Great question Pat! Thank You for opening up this question to Ask away Wednesday.
Here is a video with my thoughts!
PS- I know that the sound lags.. so what. Japanese game shows are cool.

Bryan & Veronicas wedding was held at Point Loma Nazarene University! I absolutely love this campus and how gorgeous its views overlooking the Pacific Ocean and I love the architecture throughout the campus that no other location has. It’s so perfect because it’s where they met a few years ago.
I first met Bryan & Veronica while we all worked in youth ministry. It’s been so special having them not only as clients but as best friends. It was extremely special for Scarlett & I to capture their wedding day because Bryan is actually the pastor for our wedding next April!
Veronica & Bryan got married on the Alumni Lawn at PLNU. I loooove this location because of the old Alumni House where the girls got ready and also because of the huge 100 year old oak tree on the lawn. Their reception immediatly followed at the Liberty Station NTC in Point Loma. There was so many perfect DTY Bride details that fitted the day like a glove!
Here are some of my favorite images from the day!
Veronica & Bryan’s Wedding was being filmed for a new show coming out this fall on TLC! It was a fun experience with cameras on us all day! I’ll post details in a few months when the episode is set to air!! Here is a behind the scenes shot!

Your friend has it. I have it. Half a billion people have it too. Facebook.
I’ll be honest, I’m not surprised by so many people that I meet who are hesitant to get into facebook. They don’t want their lives so public or they don’t want to get a whole new crazy internet thing” going. Whatever the reason, eventually most people will sign up. Just an opinion but I believe that being on facebook and using facebook are two different worlds. Some just want facebook to chat with others and upload photos. Others want to use it as the most powerful viral marketing tool in their business. When starting a photography business, or any business really… it may be outrages to pay for tons of print advertising which may not turn around any work for you. Facebook is free and it can be used to become an extremely powerful way to boost your business. It’s a craft that must be molded to what you want to get from it. It won’t just happen overnight.
Please take away one thing that I did not cover in this video. It’s easy to have a facebook page, post images and click the like button but the true power of facebook is in the conversations. Once others start to conversate among your content, communicate back. Conversations are the most powerful tool in the web today. Once others talk about you, you have an instant marketing team. Just my thought.
So in todays video… I have put together a presentation for you that will highlight what you can be doing with facebook for your business.

This past April, Scarlett & I had the honor of capturing Tiffany & Charles’ amazing Wedding at the Cloister hotel & resort in Sea Island, Georgia. It was even more exciting this week to find out that the Atlanta Occasions Blog had published the wedding online! This is so exciting to not only see our work on their blog but it was exciting to relive their great wedding that we had so much fun with. Check it out!!

Katie & Paul both recently graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University. They met as sophomores and their chemistry was immediate. They hung out between classes before their first date when Paul rolled up to pick her up in a 1980 White Cadillac with red interior (dice & all). He took her to a play that was a complete tribute to Billy Joel. Later that night they ended up sharing sushi and hanging out near the beach sharing their testimonies. She knew he was the one later that night.
I have actually had the honor of sharing a friendship with Paul for the last two years. I met him while hanging out one evening at PLNU. A while back he mentioned he was in a relationship with Katie and after they graduated he proposed to her. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the two of them together as they have shared their love for the Lord together and started a church here in San Diego.
Since Paul loves to surf and Katie loves to spend her free time at the beach, it made perfect sense that we shot their super fun engagement session at one of their favorite surf spots in Del Mar.

In the first meeting I had with Chelsey & Josh in the fall, they brought an immediate smile to my face. I loved how deeply in love they are with each other and they have an even deeper passion for Jesus. During their engagement session in Julian last year, I was given a glimpse into Chelsey’s passion for modern-vintage style that she rocks everywhere she goes. Chelsey also recently received a BA from FIDM where she mastered a craft in creative fashion & marketing. Now we have a bride who is gorgeous who loves modern-vintage style and has a strong fashion sense. I knew that their wedding would be incredible after our conversations we shared about how important details are at your wedding. A wedding that took place at a vintage winery that was built in 1889.
With the Wedding design & coordinating perfection from Krystel at Cotoure Events mixed with Chelsey’s DIY “lovebird” themed design, the day was filled out as a perfect wedding. Literally.
